That Moment When…You Wake Up Late

**This post is brought to you by all of the women who wake up early and go to bed late..pour out some wine for us**

That moment when you set your alarm clock, get under the covers and then what seems like minutes later you suddenly jump out the comfy confines of your sheets to realize you’re LATE! You blindly grab your clock and are mortified with the time it says on the clock {6:35}. You quickly start shouting through the house, “Wake up! Wake Up! We’re late! Wake up now!!!” You stumble into the bathroom, wash your face with an tee shirt laying on the counter, throw on your clothes (never mind if they’re matching or not) and silently thank God for taking a shower the night before. You then barrel into your kid’s rooms, flicking on lights, pulling back covers and hurridly getting your toddlers dressed (amid screams of frustration). You have to yell at your 11 year old because after 15 minutes he only has a pair of jeans on and his night shirt. Once you’ve made enough ruckus to get everyone downstairs, you hurridly give everyone a piece of fruit, load them into the truck and off you go..LATE AND ALL.

This is my life at this very moment. Every morning I get up and get 3 kids ready for summer camp and me ready for a summer job I have. Yep, I’m supposed to be off this summer but after A LOT of deep thought, I decided to take a job working with high school kids to fund my obsession with clothes, websites and dreams of being a mogul. In addition, I felt like it would be pretty useless trying to go back to bed after dropping off my preteen son at camp BY 8am and my two toddlers no later than 8:30. Why not be productive from 8:30 to 12:30 for 3 weeks? Most mornings I get up between 5:45am or 6:00pm but some mornings I wake up late–for reasons that are ALL my fault.

No, I’m not moonlighting as a security job or hitting clubs but quite honestly I’m up grinding on my plans to take over the world. Ever since I decided to start an online magazine, The Educator’s Room, I have been going NON STOP. To make thinks even more hectic, I am still editing/freelance writing for The Editing Nerd, training for a Marathon (think late winter), having silly arguments with my siblings, entertaining my 16 year old niece, taking 24 hours to read my new favorite book (50 Shades of Grey) interviewing for another career and trying to be SuperMom/Wife. WHEW! I’m tired just thinking about it.

I’ve decided to not stress about my potential to wake up in a fervor and be stressed out. If my son gets to summer camp late or the toddlers get to school late the WORLD WILL NOT END. Sigh this is what’s been going on in my life..What’s been happening with you?
