I’ve had this blog for over 2 years and the one of the things that have been consistent is my desire to live a healthier lifestyle. I’ve taken to http://bossygirl1980.com/2012/06/marathon-training-week-1-2/, walking, boxing, swimming, clean eating, meditating and even strength training to achieve my HEALTHY. I could lie to you and say that it’s easy but that would be a lie. A big, fat lie. To tell the truth it’s hard–hella hard.
It takes dedication, will power and support of family, friends and mainly of self support. Despite all of my setbacks and complaining, I’m committed to living a healthy lifestyle–at all costs. This time next year I hope to be competing in my first fitness competition, so I have a lot of corrections to make to my life–especially in terms of eating and ramping up my workouts.
To keep me accountable (and sexy) I’ve decided to sign up for another race in September, the Black Girls Run Drive to End Hunger 5k/10k in Atlanta, GA. This event is sure to EPIC in BGR style because in addition to the race there will be two days FULL of workshops, wellness sessions, beauty sessions and fellowshipping with the BADDEST running group in the world, Black Girls Run. In addition, this race is not just open to members of the running group but to ANYONE (men included) who wants to run with us!
More importantly than the race and the awesome events that will be showcased will be the mission for this race–to stamp out hunger around the country. According to the Black Girls Run site hunger is a HUGE issue in our community,
