My blog was started because one day I woke up in the mirror and I didn’t like myself. I had had my 3 (unexpected) child and in the process had let my weight go up to 225 pounds. I started my blog to document me losing weight. In 2011 I lost over 30 pounds and developed a new sport, running. However in 2012 I started with all kinds of lofty dreams only to let my business, The Educator’s Room, take over ALL of my ‘free time’. I only ran 2 races ( Peachtree Road Race, Publix Half Marathon) and I generally sucked as someone who worked out. I went from 180 pounds to 200 pounds and I’ve stayed there over the last couple of months.
After not running as much, I tried Cross Fit (and loved it) but I didn’t have the nerve to continue to go. So basically 2012 sucked for me. But as ALL of you know I’m a fighter and I don’t give up. So 2013 will be different. I have a goal weight so I’m going to be transparent and post it here– 150 pounds. In addition, to get my butt in gear I’ve already signed up for the Publix Half Marathon in March. So despite me being totally not present for making myself healthier in 2012, I’m back at it today- I’m not waiting on January 1st.
Here’s my vision board for 2013.

Love your vision board! I am working on one of my own and I love your inspiration. Good luck and 2013 will be your year!
Fran, I love running too and miss it…I was working on my Masters and so it fell to the wayside. I'm done now and feel the inner desire to start up again. Just want you to know that I will be running along side you (virtually speaking) this year! I am going to start up next week…a website that I've used over the past few years that has been really helpful is http://zuzkalight.com/ . Her workouts are challenging but they are also short, effective and you can go at your own pace. Best of luck in this New Year-'we' can do it
