Today President Obama signed 23 executive orders dealing with gun control including stronger background checks and expanded safety programs in schools. All over Facebook I saw people post things “crying” that their rights as gun owning citizens were being taken away. I even saw these same people days after the SandyHook shootings going and buying mass amounts of ammunition and assault weapons in fear that in the near future these things would be banned. Let me say that if that’s the first thing (going and buying more weapons) you think about after a tragedy then you’re not worth
The President's plan includes: 1. Closing background check loopholes to keep guns out of dangerous hands; 2. Banning military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and taking other common-sense steps to reduce gun violence; 3. Making schools safer; and 4. Increasing access to mental health services.
