Hi Bossy Girl! Today I start the journey following your very detailed outline of products. First, thank you for sharing so unselfishly! Just a quick question. Do I apply the l.i.c. and Sulfur 8 weekly or daily? Thank you again and I'll check back in in 6 mos and let you know my results. :-)

Great post. I'm really excited to get the book and learn some effective sustainability strategies. I'm finishing up my first year of teaching now and I can imagine that burnout is a very real outcome that can happen in the profession. Thanks for putting the book together and sharing your knowledge with us.

After nine years I finally broke down and took my daughter, but I was less than impressed. She has dry brittle hair and dry scalp after getting her hair washed and blown out I noticed her hair was still flaky in the scalp area and I waisted a whole $60 I'm so frustrated. I wanna try your conditioner mix to see if it well improve her hair.she had beautiful hair and I ruined it. It was thick and in the middle of her back and I put a texturizer in it. I went away for a few weeks and a friend did out and placed a hot comb and it hasn't been the same since

Thank you for sharing! My daughter is biracial and 4 yrs old. She had no hair on the sides and back for the first year. Her hair finally started growing out, but at four is only shoulder length- it grows so slowly but has beautiful tight curls. My other daughter (same dad) has much bigger curls and I am cutting that child's hair every couple months- their hair is so different! I am excited to try the Doris New York on my 4 yr. old's hair, I think this may help. So far the only product we use is Biosilk (leave in conditioner which controls the frizz and makes the hair soft and shiny) but it needed something else! Thanks again!

You're right. Eating clean does make a huge difference! It was hard for me at first but now it seems like second nature. As soon as I fail even a little bit, the "bad" food makes me feel tired and bloated. The hardest thing for me is always temptation during the work day, but I've been able to resist! I lost 25 pounds this past year without counting calories.

Mean girls in pre-k?? Lawd! I totally understand wanting to protect our children from all the evils in the world and I tried to for as long as I could be eventually they have to go outside. With or without us. I dread the day Chunks faces his first bully because he really isn't a "fighter" like some boys but he has to deal. I wouldn't want to shelter him so much that he's shocked with no clue how to deal with the jerks of the world. All we can do is raise our children to be good and decent people but also teach them that not everyone does the same. Good luck with the school choices and the mean girls.

For me growing up, going to beauty salon was something we did only for special occasions like Christmas, family/school pictures or to get our ends properly trimmed. My daughter is four and I do her hair once a week at home. Right now, it's just not worth the money to pay someone to do what I can do. Plus, braiding has never been a problem for me since I braid fast.

It's the hair washing that takes the longest because she always ends up with shampoo in her eyes. I do think that once she's around ten I'll start taking her to get her ends professionally trimmed.

I took mines to the salon for her 3rd birthday and I try to take her once a month since then I need to find someone who can braid her hair who lives closer to me but until then we travel out to camp creek once a month. I can't do hair at all and she is getting ready to start school so she needs to have a steady person who can do her hair nicely.

I feel your pain! I'm still teaching myself how to braid and it's work! Thinking of new styles, praying she doesn't mess it up completely at night...I'm right there with you! I won't take her to the salon for a while because I feel she's too young, but I'm certainly not against it when I feel the time is right. It doesn't hurt to get a break every now and then.
